Walking into a gym for the first time is the hardest part. Here’s how to make it easier, and what’s actually here to help once you do.
Start with a low-commitment visit
You don’t need to sign up for a year to find out if a gym is right for you. A day pass lets you come in, look around and try the equipment with zero commitment, which is the easiest way to get over that first-visit nervousness.
Learn the basics before you lift
Getting your technique right early matters more than how much weight you’re lifting. Our personal trainers offer one-to-one and small group sessions and are used to working with complete beginners – it’s worth booking a session or two just to learn the fundamentals safely.
Know the gym rules before you go
A quick read of the gym rules and etiquette page will tell you the basics – re-racking weights, wiping down machines, and general gym floor etiquette – so you’re not guessing on your first visit.
Warm up and cool down properly
It’s easy to skip this as a beginner, but it’s one of the best habits to build early. We have a dedicated stretch zone for exactly this, away from the main training floor.
